The better scores had CPU scores through the roof though so that probably wasn't air cooled hehe. I was 8th or 6th on the leaderboard for my CPU and GPU pairing in Time Spy. Or maybe it's still just that Kaineįor lower end hardware like mine, it is not much of an issue. Benchmarks is mostly epeen measuring, I agree unless you just enjoy being at the races I guess. The best way to test ones hardware is to do the tasks your hardware is supposed to do and see if it performs adequately. Yeah definitley, in regards to cooling that is also an option which you wont necessarrily see when you look at the score board unless the user stated something like "ln2" or "dry ice" cooling or whatever in the comments.Įverytime there is a patch to the benchmark used in this case Fire Strike tests must be redone due to changes in the software if comparison is even supposed to be fairly relevant. (its about a year old, but generally the scores seem to check out) ***they also recently changed their scoring system i think so that may also play a role, not sure im not super into this stuff, because overall its rather pointless epeen measuring*** but shouldn't a 12th gen p little have a bit more oomph than a 3600 at least? Could indeed be early adaptors mobo shenanigans. overall they may be "slightly" low, i mainly looked at gpu scores. The thing is ops score is perfectly normal. theres a bunch of tricks and "optimizations" that can be done, also ln2 cooling etc, which is not necessarily visible in the results. I was top in the scoreboard on graphics score for my GPU/CPU combo and I would never (or could ever) game on those settings I used so it's not relevant for anything else than just a scoreboard. So other benchmarks may be overclocked, optimized or even silicon lottery plays a part. The last time I ran it I had my VRAM clocked so high the artifacts looked like they would implode my screen and I was just biting my teeth trying to beat my previous score. This final release improves 3DMark 11 compatibility with Windows 10, however, for benchmarking PCs with modern hardware, we recommend using the latest version of 3DMark instead.I use various methods of optimizing my PC if I wanna do a 3D Mark run. This update marks the end of support for 3DMark 11. Image Quality tool will no longer give a cryptic error if the output directory does not exist.Fixed submitting saved files to from the command line.(Yes, this could happen during the Combined Test on some low end DirectX 11 cards.) The HUD timer no longer rolls over if a single test takes more than ten minutes.Fixed several memory and texture leaks, improving stability during very long looping runs.Fixed display initialization code that caused "SetFullscreenState failed: DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE" errors on some systems.Removed dependency on EvaDotNet.dll and for GPU enumeration to fix compatibility issues with some systems. Now using static Visual C++ 2010 runtime libraries to fix rare installation issues on some systems.SystemInfo updated to version 4.15 for full Windows 8 compatibility. The license key is now reset when the benchmark is reinstalled, allowing removal of invalid keys.3DMark 11 will now prevent Windows from entering Sleep during the test.GPU count detection for multi-GPU systems is now correct even when SystemInfo is explicitly disabled.3DMark 11 now remembers the last custom resolution used.Note that if the display switches to the desktop due to a popup window during the benchmark, the run will still be aborted as the display mode is no longer the same. Keyboard focus is no longer checked during the demo or when running the benchmark in a loop.Fixed display mode identification for systems with a very large number of supported display modes. Soft body physics using DirectCompute and the Bullet physics library running on the GPU. Runs rigid body physics simulation on a moderate number of objects. This test runs at a fixed resolution regardless of the chosen preset.Rigid body physics simulation with a large number of objects.Medium lighting with few shadow casting lights.Heavy lighting with several shadow casting lights. Audio Windows Vista / Windows 7 compatible sound card.Graphics: DirectX 11 compatible graphics card.Processor: 1.8GHz dual-core Intel or AMD CPU.OS: Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7.3DMark 11 requires DirectX 11, a DirectX 11 compatible video card, and Windows Vista or Windows 7.
